VENEERS

Dental veneers are an excellent solution for many aesthetic imperfections such as poor colour, shape or contours, fractured teeth, tooth position, as well as some minor bite related problems. They are also an excellent option for managing superficial stains in teeth not amenable to tooth whitening and closing the gap between your teeth. If you have broken tooth, chipped tooth, damaged tooth or stained tooth, a dental veneer can completely restore your smile – and your confidence, and in most cases all in a single appointment using CEREC technology.

Veneers are constructed from a thin, strong shell of porcelain or composite which is made to fit over the visible surface of your tooth. Whether veneers are used to enhance your smile, the truth of the matter is no one should know that you have had any work done, just that you look great. Admirers should perceive only a subtle change, something they can’t quite put their finger on. In the end, it is you who will be exuding improved self-confidence from your new smile.

Types of Dental Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

At Wellsford Dental, our veneers are made in house and are individually crafted and designed for you using the latest CEREC CAD/CAM technology and all in one appointment. No second appointment needed and you don’t need to wait for that beautiful smile. Porcelain veneers typically last many years, so they will eventually need to be replaced. To make your veneers last longer, follow a good oral hygiene program and make sure you have regular hygiene appointments. We’ll also provide you with handy hints to ensure that your veneers last longer. When you chose CEREC you have the most Innovative piece of technology utilizing German engineered CAD/CAM technology and milling to restore an aesthetically designed veneer for you. When you need beautifully designed teeth restored in your mouth, consider visiting us at Wellsford Dental and work with our dentist specialising in CEREC (same day veneers and crowns). You can even see the veneer being milled in our CAD/CAM machine milling unit. Get back your smile and natural looking teeth, all within a single visit!

Direct composite veneers

When you choose to have a composite veneer, the veneer is made entirely by the dentist, using a specific layering technique and a range of modern composite materials that vary in tints and shades to create a perfect aesthetic outcome. The advantage of direct composite veneers is that only minimal tooth structure is removed and can work out more cost effective than a porcelain veneer. Multiple veneers can be prepared at the same time and they can be altered in shape and colour at any stage in the future.

SHOULD I CHOOSE TEETH WHITENING OR PORCELAIN VENEERS?

A person’s smile is often one of the first things people notice about their appearance. As a result, stains or tooth imperfections can have a significant effect on one’s self-esteem. With cosmetic dentistry techniques such as teeth whitening and porcelain veneers, Dr. Mohan can rejuvenate your smile for a more vibrant and youthful look. But how can you determine which procedure is best for you?

Professional teeth whitening treatments, such as our in-office Zoom!® Whitening system, can restore the natural radiance of your teeth in a single day. This option can be a great benefit if you have a special event on the horizon such as a wedding or a reunion. Zoom!® Whitening is a fast and effective treatment that can eliminate stains caused by coffee, tea, wine, and other agents that can discolour the teeth. The procedure can ultimately brighten your teeth up to eight shades lighter in 45 minutes. Patients who wish to have the convenience of whitening in the privacy of their own home also have the option of our easy-to-use custom trays and gel.

For patients who have deeper, more significant stains and discoloration on their teeth, porcelain veneers may be an additional solution to achieve a brighter, whiter smile. This cosmetic treatment has the added benefit of concealing a number of other tooth imperfections. If you wish to address any cracks, chips, gaps, or even mild tooth misalignment, veneers can typically address those concerns.
